Home-Grown Revolution
Welcome! In the next couple of months I will be posting my foibles and fun in trying to grow as much of my own food as I can. With the rising cost of food, decreased nutrient levels, and the ecological impact of mass production, this may prove to be a worthwhile experiment...even if I fail!

Neighbors
This cat wanted me to come up and get it! Look how it's reaching out! Unfortunately it is looked down upon to steal your neighbors' cat....

Baby Pictures
Look at the sexy peltate leaves on these nasturtiums! It was just yesterday I was shoving their seeds into the dirt....

Everything Will Be Ok
Everyone in my apartment has been depressed lately. The feeling of helplessness in the face of complex, awful, seemingly hopeless problems in the world and our own shortcomings in fixing them has made us sad. Like the Ten Years After song says, "I'd love to change the world, but I don't know what to do..." Too much Noam Chomsky, and not enough sprouts! This project is small, but seeing things I plant grow makes me feel like everything will be ok. Until the nuclear winter, that is.

73 F with a 30% chance of snow
My potatoes are so suggestive! I'm planting potatoes because the crazy weather forecast says 73 with a 30% chance of snow. What the hell! Potatoes will be ok if I don't get home right away to bring them inside if snow comes. (FYI the skinny one is an interesting Japanese purple potato I found shopping).
